How We Get Our Numbers

We don't rely on marketing claims. Every conversion on this site is grounded in luminous efficacy — the actual ratio of light output (lumens) to energy consumed (watts) for each bulb technology:

When a manufacturer says a bulb is "60W equivalent," we verify it against the lumen output — not the box. An LED must produce at least 750 lumens to truly replace a 60-watt incandescent. If the math doesn't check out, we'll tell you.
